PRIVATE TOUR – GIBRALTAR
Embark on an unforgettable experience with our private Gibraltar excursion from Seville, the flagship tour of Andalusia Guided Tours. Accompanied by a passionate local guide, you will discover the fascinating history, cultural diversity and unique character of this strategic enclave where two continents, two seas and three cultures meet.
Immerse yourself in the magic of the Rock of Gibraltar, a territory steeped in Spanish, British and Mediterranean influences. You will climb to the top of the Rock to enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the Strait of Gibraltar, the coast of Africa and the Bay of Algeciras. You will visit the legendary St Michael’s Cave, a natural cathedral of stalactites turned into an auditorium, and discover the complex network of the Great Siege Tunnels, carved into the rock during the 18th century.
And of course, no visit is complete without an encounter with the famous Gibraltar apes, the Barbary macaques: the only wild primates living freely in Europe. Watching them up close, in their natural surroundings, is a unique experience that adds a magical touch to the visit and delights young and old alike.
Beyond its monuments, on our Gibraltar excursion you will enjoy authentic experiences: we will stroll along Main Street and its tax-free shops, take you to sample the local cuisine at picturesque restaurants recommended by our guides, and tell you the stories and legends that have shaped this enclave. All at your own pace, with no large groups or rigid schedules.
Want to make the most of the day? We recommend combining the Gibraltar tour with a visit to Vejer de la Frontera or Castellar de la Frontera, two of the most beautiful White Villages in the province of Cádiz. A perfect combination to discover the contrast between the British heritage of the Rock and the purest Andalusian essence.
We also organise this Gibraltar excursion from Granada, Málaga, Marbella, Ronda or Jerez, adapting the route and schedule to your starting point. Book your private Gibraltar tour now and enjoy an exclusive, tailor-made day in one of the most fascinating corners of southern Europe.
Must-see places

One of the two mythological Pillars of Hercules, this imposing 426-metre limestone monolith dominates the Strait. From its summit you can see three countries at once: Spain, the United Kingdom and Morocco. A World Heritage Site for its geological and biological value.

The Barbary macaques are the only wild primates living freely in Europe. Legend has it that as long as there are apes on the Rock, Gibraltar will remain British. You will see them moving freely among the viewpoints of the Upper Rock Nature Reserve.

A spectacular network of natural caverns with age-old stalactites and stalagmites. The main chamber now serves as an auditorium lit by a play of light and sound that makes it one of the most striking sights on the Rock.

An impressive network of galleries hand-carved into the rock during the Spanish siege of Gibraltar (1779-1783). Walking through its passageways, gun galleries and lookouts is a journey into one of the most fascinating chapters of European military history.
Full day
An early departure from your hotel in Seville to make the most of the day. The journey to Gibraltar takes about 2h 30min and crosses the unique landscapes of the Cádiz countryside. Along the way, we will tell you the history and most interesting details of the Strait.
Border crossing (remember to bring a valid passport or ID card) and welcome to the British Overseas Territory. We drive up to the top of the Rock, entering the Upper Rock Nature Reserve to begin the guided tour with spectacular views of the Strait.
One of the most magical experiences of the day: a close encounter with the famous Barbary macaques, the only wild primates living freely in Europe. Your guide will explain their history, their behaviour and the rules for responsible watching.
We will explore the interior of the Rock: first the spectacular St Michael’s Cave, with its impressive illuminated auditorium chamber, and then the Great Siege Tunnels, a feat of military engineering carved into the rock during the 18th century that tells the story of the sieges of Gibraltar.
Down to the town centre to sample the local cuisine at a restaurant recommended by our guides: the legendary calentita, fish & chips or a more Mediterranean dish. Afterwards, free time along Main Street to browse its duty-free shops, its pubs and its unique blend of British and Andalusian atmosphere.
If time allows and you’d like to, we’ll round off the day with a quick visit to Vejer de la Frontera —one of the most beautiful villages in Spain— or Castellar de la Frontera, a fortress-village perched high in the mountains. The perfect contrast between British heritage and the Andalusian soul.
With the experience complete, we return to Seville and drop you off comfortably at your hotel. Estimated arrival in the evening, with the satisfaction of having spent a full day discovering the treasures of the Rock. Flexible itinerary: we can adapt it to your preferences and the time available.
Exclusive experience · 3 countries in 1 day
Since you’re coming all this way, why not combine your visit to Gibraltar with our private tour to Tangier. Crossing the Strait by ferry from the nearby port of Tarifa, in barely an hour you’ll be setting foot on African soil. A unique opportunity to visit Spain, the United Kingdom and Morocco on a single trip: three countries, two continents and a thousand years of shared history. Ask us about this combination and we’ll design a tailor-made experience for you.

Everything you need to know
The excursion to Gibraltar from Seville is a full-day tour of approximately 10 to 12 hours. We leave early in the morning and return to the hotel in the evening. The distance between Seville and Gibraltar is about 200 km and the drive takes around 2h 30min each way.
Yes, Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory and so we cross a border. European Union citizens can enter with a valid ID card. Travellers from outside the EU need a passport. We recommend carrying your document with you at all times during the day.
The tour includes: pick-up and return to your hotel, private transport in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle, an official Spanish-speaking local guide (also available in English), a full tour of the Rock with a visit to the Upper Rock Nature Reserve, an encounter with the apes, St Michael’s Cave and the Great Siege Tunnels. Admission to the Rock’s attractions can be included or paid on the spot, whichever you prefer.
Lunch, drinks and personal shopping on Main Street are not included. The cable car (optional) is also not included, though we’ll recommend the best options based on your interests and the timing of the day.
We offer the Gibraltar tour in Spanish, English and French. If you need a guide in another language, ask us and we’ll do our best to arrange it.
No. The Gibraltar macaques are wild animals and touching or feeding them is prohibited (with fines of up to £500). Although they come very close, we watch them respectfully from a safe distance. It’s important to keep bags, visible food and sunglasses well secured during the visit.
Yes. Although we usually depart from Seville, we also organise the Gibraltar excursion from Málaga, Marbella, Granada, Ronda, Jerez or Cádiz. We adapt the schedule and route to your starting point. Tell us where you’re setting off from and we’ll make you a personalised proposal.
Of course! It’s one of the most requested options. We recommend combining Gibraltar with Vejer de la Frontera (one of the most beautiful villages in Spain) or Castellar de la Frontera, a picturesque village-fortress inside a medieval castle. It’s the perfect way to complement the British heritage of the Rock with the most authentic Andalusian essence.
Completely. As it is a 100% private tour, the itinerary adapts to your preferences: whether you want more shopping time on Main Street, more time with the apes, to swap a stop or to add a White Village. Tell us what you’d like to do and we’ll design the day to suit you.
The essentials: a valid ID card or passport, comfortable footwear (we go up and down the Rock), water, sunglasses, sunscreen and, in winter, a windproof jacket (the levante wind often blows at the top of the Rock). In summer, a cap and light clothing. Pound sterling is the official currency, although the euro is accepted in many shops.
Gibraltar can be visited all year round thanks to its mild climate. Spring (April-June) and autumn (September-October) are ideal for their pleasant temperatures and the light for photographs. In summer it’s hot, but the Atlantic breezes make it more bearable. In winter, the views towards Africa are usually clearer.
