What you'll see on your visit to Córdoba

Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba

The Mosque-Cathedral is one of the most extraordinary monuments in the world and the undisputed symbol of Córdoba. Originally built as a great Umayyad mosque in the 8th century and later transformed into a Christian cathedral, this building reflects centuries of history and cultural coexistence. Its forest of columns and two-tone arches creates a unique atmosphere, while the Renaissance cathedral within adds a spectacular contrast. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is an essential visit to understand the splendour of Al-Andalus.

The Jewish Quarter (Judería)

The historic Judería is a maze of narrow streets, flowered courtyards and whitewashed houses that preserves the charm of medieval Córdoba. Once home to the Jewish community, today it is one of the most picturesque parts of the city. Here you’ll find emblematic spots such as the Calleja de las Flores and the Synagogue, along with numerous artisan workshops and traditional courtyards that capture the Andalusian spirit.

Roman Temple

Discovered in the 20th century, this set of Corinthian columns belonged to an important 1st-century temple dedicated to the imperial cult. Located in the heart of the city, the Roman Temple recalls Córdoba’s past as capital of the Roman province of Baetica. Its sober monumentality contrasts with the modern surroundings, offering a direct window onto ancient Roman Corduba.

Calahorra Tower

Standing at the southern end of the Roman Bridge, this fortress of Islamic origin protected access to the city. Remodelled in Christian times, it now houses a museum dedicated to the coexistence of the Jewish, Christian and Muslim cultures of Al-Andalus. From its surroundings you get some of the best views of the Mosque-Cathedral and the historic centre, especially after nightfall.

Roman Bridge

The Roman Bridge connects the historic centre with the southern bank of the Guadalquivir and offers one of the city’s most iconic panoramas. Built in Roman times and remodelled over the centuries, for two thousand years it was the main access route into Córdoba. Walking across it lets you enjoy spectacular views of the Mosque-Cathedral and the city’s historic skyline, especially at sunset.

Suggested itinerary

Meet your private guide and set off in a comfortable vehicle towards Córdoba. On the way you’ll learn about the history and curiosities of the region: the Umayyad Caliphate, the coexistence of the three cultures and the secrets that make Córdoba a city unlike any other in the world.

A complete guided visit of the city’s most emblematic monument. Discover its extraordinary architecture, its forest of columns and its historic evolution from Umayyad mosque to Christian cathedral. Luis will reveal the secrets of the Caliphal mihrab, the 856 two-tone arches and the story of how three civilisations left their mark on a single sacred space.

Explore this fortress-palace linked to the Catholic Monarchs and to Christopher Columbus, from where the Reconquest of Granada was planned. Stroll through its gardens with fountains, lemon trees and reflecting pools and enjoy privileged views over the city. Entry is optional according to your preferences.

A walk through the historic Judería, its narrow streets and its charming corners. Visit the famous traditional courtyards, especially spectacular in spring but beautiful all year round. The Calleja de las Flores, the medieval Synagogue and the statue of Maimonides are essential stops in this quarter, unique in Europe.

Enjoy free time to sample Córdoba’s cuisine in selected traditional restaurants. Salmorejo, flamenquín, oxtail stew and the wines of Montilla-Moriles are just some of the specialities you shouldn’t miss. If you like, we can eat together so we can recommend the best local dishes.

Keep exploring at your own pace, shop for local products — Córdoba ceramics, embossed leather, Montilla-Moriles wines — or relax on a terrace by the Roman Bridge before heading back.

After a full day discovering Córdoba, enjoy a comfortable return by private vehicle to your hotel or agreed point in Seville or your home city. The journey back is the perfect moment to answer any last questions or plan the rest of your stay in Andalusia.
