Private Tour · Carmona from Seville

What will you see in Carmona?

Discover Carmona on a private half-day guided visit from Seville. Just 30 km from the capital, Carmona is one of the oldest cities in Europe and one of the most impressive historic-artistic sites in Andalusia: more than 5,000 years of history in which Tartessians, Romans, Muslims and Christians have left their mark on every stone of its walled old town. A perfect getaway to combine with your stay in Seville.

Our specialised local guides will lead you through the city’s most iconic spots: the imposing Alcázar de la Puerta de Sevilla, a Roman and Muslim fortress that guards the entrance to the historic quarter; the churches and convents of the old town; Renaissance squares such as the Plaza de San Fernando; and, optionally, the remarkable Roman Necropolis of Carmona, one of the best-preserved Roman burial sites in all of Spain and a must for lovers of archaeology.

This private tour to Carmona is not just about visiting monuments: you’ll immerse yourself in the local life of a white village with true Andalusian flavour, discover the traditional cuisine at charming bars and restaurants, and enjoy the spectacular views over the Corbones river valley. An authentic experience, completely flexible —morning or afternoon, you choose— and adapted to your pace and interests. We also organise this excursion to Carmona from Granada, Málaga, Córdoba and other cities in Spain.

A suggested itinerary

Pick-up at your Seville hotel or an agreed point in a fully comfortable private vehicle. The journey to Carmona takes approximately 30 minutes. During the journey, your guide will introduce you to the history and curiosities of the region. You choose whether you prefer a morning departure (around 9:00) or an afternoon one (around 15:00). We also organise this excursion from Granada, Málaga, Córdoba or other cities.

The visit begins at Carmona’s most iconic monument: the imposing Roman and Muslim fortress that guards the entrance to the historic quarter. We’ll climb up to the parade ground to enjoy the best panoramic views over the Corbones valley and the white rooftops of the old town.

A walk through the cobbled streets of the walled old quarter: Mudéjar churches, convents, stately homes and charming corners. Arrival at the Plaza de San Fernando, the monumental heart of Carmona, surrounded by Renaissance palaces. An exterior visit to the Church of Santa María, built over the former main mosque.

A break to discover the local cuisine at one of the charming bars and restaurants in the old town. We’ll recommend the best places to try traditional tapas, wines from the Seville countryside and convent-made sweets. If you prefer, we can join you to advise you on the local dishes.

An optional visit to one of the best-preserved Roman burial sites in all of Spain. A tour of the tombs carved into the rock, the columbaria and the spectacular Tomb of Servilia. An essential archaeological experience for understanding the importance of the ancient Roman Carmo, called by Julius Caesar “the light of all Baetica”. One of the great treasures that set Carmona apart from any other Andalusian town.

Before leaving, a final stop at the Puerta de Córdoba, an imposing Roman and medieval gateway with spectacular views over the valley. A comfortable return in a private vehicle to your hotel in Seville (or your city of origin), rounding off the half-day guided visit with plenty of time to carry on with your plans for the day.
